Whether you need to prepare a health & safety policy, need to carry out risk assessments or want to implement a health & safety management system, ASATS can provide advice and practical help. We have a small team of consultants who will provide a friendly, professional service to help you meet your health & safety responsibilities and maximise your efficiency. All our services and documentation are specifically tailored to your Companys requirements. What the law requires..
Health & Safety Policy.. A written health & safety policy is required in companies employing 5 or more people, whether full or part-time. The policy must meet certain criteria and be communicated to all employees. ASATS can help you prepare and implement a suitable policy.
Risk Assessments.. Employers and the self-employed must carry out an assessment of all significant risks to health & safety involved in their businesses. This legal duty applies irrespective of the number of employees. They must also be carried out by a competent person and be suitable and sufficient. Several health & safety regulations require specific risk assessments to be carried out in order to reduce the risks from hazards where there is a known risk. These include assessments of manual handling tasks, hazardous substances (COSHH), computer and other display screens, fire risks within premises, noise, and the suitability of any personal protective equipment. ASATS can carry out your risk assessments or train personnel to carry out risk assessments.
Health & Safety Training.. There is a legal requirement to provide sufficient health & safety training to enable employees to carry out their work safely. This extends to all levels of employees and includes induction training, training for the use of plant and equipment, management and refresher training. Please see our training page for more information.
Health & Safety Management.. The law requires employers to actively manage health & safety at work, and an effective management system is particularly important where any legal action is threatened. Managing your health & safety allows you to budget for any improvements needed and should also result in fewer accidents, increased efficiency, lower insurance premiums and the ability to defend claims for damages. Your system for managing health & safety doesn't need to be complicated, but should provide sufficient documentation to demonstrate legal compliance. We can provide bespoke management systems or can carry out monitoring and audit of your existing arrangements.
Access to Competent Advice.. All companies are required to have access to competent advice on health & safety matters, in order to help each employer fulfil their legal duties under health & safety legislation. Ideally, this should be provided by an employee with the necessary skills, knowledge and training. In small companies, this is not always achievable, so ASATS can act as your competent advisor. Please click on the H&S Advisor link for more information. In larger companies, there is often a need for additional expertise, and again ASATS can provide this service.
ASATS operates throughout the UK. We can provide advice and assistance to your company, whatever your industry. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
